Numa tarde quente de Agosto, duas senhoras enganam o calor abanando um leque, numa repartição de finanças em Lisboa.

Um outro ponto de vista
Ultimamente tenho experimentado uma forma diferente de observar o objecto do meu desenho, colocando-me num ponto mais alto ou até mesmo demasiado próximo. O resultado fica assim, meio deformado mas real.
O meu filho Manel a aprender a jogar Flight Simulator ensinado pelo avô.
Lately I have experienced a different way of observing the object of my drawing, putting me at a higher point or even too close. The result is moreless deformed but real.

Planta carnívora
O meu filho Manel tem uma planta carnívora impressionante, metida num vaso minúsculo. Na semana passada engoliu duas vespas, que agora se encontram em estado de aparente digestão, no interior daquelas incríveis mandíbulas.
Quando for de férias, tal e qual os donos de cães, gatos ou piriquitos, também vou levar a plantinha para que não se desfaleça...
My son Manel has a stunning carnivorous plant, within a tiny vase. Last week he swallowed two wasps, who are now in a state of apparent digestion within those incredible jaws.
When on vacations, just like the owners of dogs, cats or parakeets, I also will take the little plant avoiding him to fail ...

Big Foot!
Quando desenho pessoas sempre começo por desenhar a cabeça, agora também o rosto, como se fosse esse o elemento condutor do desenho e responsável por todo o enquadramento na dupla página do meu caderno.
Este desenho foi diferente, e decidi começar pelos pés. Colocados em água quente numa bacia verde, preparados para um arranjo de unhas, eles foram a razão do desenho. O resto foi surgindo depois, deformando as linhas à medida que a folha ia ficando cada vez mais pequena.
Gostei do resultado.
When drawing people I always start by the head, now with a face, as if that was the conductive element of the drawing and responsible for the entire frame in my sketchbook double page.
This drawing was different, and I decided to start with the feet. Placed in hot water in a green bowl, prepared for a nails job, they were the reason for the drawing. The rest came later, deforming the lines as the sheet was getting smaller.
I liked the result.
