"Os Urban Sketchers em Paraty"

No dia 11 de Novembro pelas 19 horas, vou estar no Museu Bordalo Pinheiro (Campo Grande 382) para falar do Simpósio USK de Paraty. Vai ser uma conversa à volta das deliciosas estórias e das gentes que comigo se cruzaram, contadas em desenhos e na primeira pessoa. OJoão Catarino e o André Duarte Baptista também por lá andaram, e neste dia também vão contar o que fizeram. Sintam-se convidados, eu acho que vai valer muito a pena.

 

 

On November 11th, at7 pm, I´ll be at the Bordalo Pinheiro Museus (Campo Grande 382) to talk about the USK Symposium in Paraty. It will be a delightful conversation around the stories and people who have crossed me, told in drawings and in the first person. João Catarino and Andre Duarte Baptista also were over there, and this day they will also tell you what they did. Feel invited, I think it will worth a lot.

Exposição

No passado Sábado tivémos um muito original e divertido encontro em Lisboa, a convite da Peugeot Portugal, e desenhámos carros da marca do leão estacionados na Avenida da República. Na próxima Sexta-Feira dia 31, vai inaugurar a exposição com alguns cadernos e os desenhos de todos os participantes. O meu edifício desconcertado com carros que também se parecem com edifícios, foi o escolhido para a capa do convite. Infelizmente não vou conseguir estar presente nesse dia,  mas sei que vai valer muito a pena.

Last Saturday we had a very unique and fun USK meeting in Lisbon, an invitation from Peugeot Portugal, and we draw the Lion brand cars parked on Avenida da Republica. The next Friday the 31st, will be the inauguration of the exhibition with some sketchbooks and drawings of all participants. My disconcerted  building with cars that also resemble buildings, was chosen for the cover of the invitation. Unfortunately I will be unable to be present that day, but I know it will be worth, very much worth it.

Encontro na Pê-jôt

Este Sábado tivemos um encontro de USKP muito divertido e original, que me levou a desenhar algo que gosto tanto: carros. Fomos convidados pela Peugeot para desenhar os seus novos modelos, estacionados na avenida da República. No final do Encontro deixei lá o caderno, dentro de uma caixa de papelão, acho que vai haver uma exposição e o meu também lá vai estar. Hoje só meto aqui fotografias, e fiquei sem caderno por 3 semanas, não sei como vou sobreviver...

This Saturday we had a USKP meeting, very funny and unique, which led me to draw something I like so much: cars. We were invited by Peugeot to draw their new models, parked on Avenida da República. At the end of the meeting I left my skecthbook inside a cardboard box, I think there will be an exhibition and mine will be there as well. Today, I only post photos here, and I have no skecthbook for 3 weeks, I do not know how I'll survive ...

Perdi a conta as vezes que desenhei a minha amiga Marilisa. Acho mesmo que qualquer dia tenho de pagar "royalties" de tanto abuso de imagem, mas por agora tenho-o feito sem custos. Mas nunca tínhamos feito um duelo. Fizemos o primeiro no passado Sábado, quando almoçávamos em Tomar onde iríamos participar do Encontro das jornadas do Património. Eu desenhei-a assim rosadinha, apesar do copo de vinho ser meu, e ela desenhou-me com menos 25 anos, parecia um garoteco. Que pena ela não ter querido partilhar o desenho dela...

Ah, os olhos azuis são mesmo assim.

 

I cannot remember how many times I drew my friend Marilisa. I really think any day I have to pay "royalties" from her image abuse, but for now I have it done at no cost. But we had never done a duel. We did the first last Saturday, when we were having lunch in Tomar where we would participate in the meeting of the Heritage journey. I draw her it so ruddy, despite the glass of wine was mine, and she drew me with less 25 years, I seemed a young boy. Too bad she did not share the drawing that she did ...

By the way, the blues eyes are real.

 

 

Aniversários

No dia 29 de Setembro o meu filho Manel fez 8 anos.

Tem sido um bom rapazeco, e mereceu receber de presente uma bicicleta, que pelo tamanho das rodas vai servir-lhe até aos 12 anos. Nesse mesmo dia contei-lhe que tive a minha primeira bicicleta com 9 anos, quando ele já vai na terceira. E quando tive essa primeira bicicleta, era a repartir pelos meus dois irmãos, e não me lembro de nos termos queixado. Era uma pasteleira muito pesada, dobrava ao meio para caber no porta-bagagens e tinha um banquinho atrás que dava para dar boleia a alguém mais levezinho.

Neste mesmo dia 29 de Setembro, e todos os anos desde há treze anos atrás, que festejo também o meu aniversário de casamento. Não tirei fotos neste dia, mas fiz dois desenhos e ofereci dois presentes, fiquei com a sensação de que ambos ficaram contentes.

O segundo desenho desse dia não deveria ser publicado aqui, até porque o prometi ao meu filho, envergonhado que estava por ter apenas umas cuecas vestidas. Mas este blog terá talvez pouca freguesia, e ninguém vai ver um rapazeco de 8 anos de perna à mostra e de cuecas cinzentas clarinhas, e eu de troco nu e calções amarelos.

On September 29th Manel my son turned 8.
He has been a good boy, and deserved to receive a new bicycle, looking to the wheel size it will fit up to his 12. On that same day I told him that I had my first bike with 9 years, when he is now on his third. And when I had that first bike was to be shared by my brother and sister, and I do not remember we complained. It was a very heavy one, folded in half to fit in the trunk and had a stool behind that led to give a ride to someone else lighter.
On the same day September 29th, and every year since thirteen years ago, I also celebrate my wedding anniversary. I did not take pictures on this day, but I made two drawings and offered two gifts, I got the feeling that both were happy.
The second drawing from that day should not be published here, because I promised my son not to do it, he was embarrassed by having only his panty. But this blog has in these days few attendes, and no one will see that 8 years old boy of leg using some grey panties, and I with my naked chestand and yellow shorts.
